Diamond B Ranch Ranch Details
Location
25 miles northeast of Cheyenne, Wyoming. It’s about a 1.5 hour drive from Denver, Colorado or 45 minutes from Laramie, Wyoming. Cheyenne was recently named the 2nd best city in the US to move to and raise a family! This is based on cost of living, taxes, home costs, schools, climate, commute times and access to long-term care. (Results provided by Primacy Relocation and World ERC)
Cheyenne has also been named the number one “Tax- Friendly City” in the United States. Taxes are so low because Wyoming is one of only three states in the Union with a budget SURPLUS. (Results provided by Kiplingers™ Personal Finance magazine)
History
Mr. and Mrs. John Bruegman originally settled the Diamond B Ranch in 1910 as part of the U.S. Government's Homestead Act. Starting with just ten head of livestock and some poultry, the Bruegmans built a prosperous dairy farm and horse ranch that provided their extended family a good livelihood and wonderful lifestyle for several decades. For many years, the Bruegmans would proudly ride 165 of their finest horses into Cheyenne to take part in the Frontier Days, to celebrate that lifestyle and rekindle the romance of the Old West.
